The Presbytery of Missouri Union met at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Columbia, MO on Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at 9:30 a.m. in a called meeting.
Moderator Diane Miller opened the meeting with prayer. The Moderator stated the purpose of the called meeting is to have Candidate Darren Hofmann preach a sermon before the Presbytery and be examined for Ordination as a Minister of the Word and Sacrament.
The Moderator, Rev. Diane Miller, moved that the Docket be approved. Motion passed.

Visitors present: Mona Ajans, Moderator, Presbyterian Women, Sue Alberti, Presbytery of Missouri Union, Daren Hofmann, Jefferson City-First, Jim Hofmann, Jefferson City-First, Marilyn Hofmann, Jefferson City-First, Marilyn Johnson, Louisiana-First and Janet Jones, Otterville.
Rev. Brad Sheppard, Moderator of the Committee on the Preparation For Ministry, introduced Candidate Daren Hofmann. Candidate Hofmann has received a call as Associate Pastor of First Federated Church, Peoria, Illinois and has been received by the Presbytery of Great Rivers.
Worship: Candidate Daren Hofmann read the Scripture, Luke 19: 11-27. His sermon was titled “Responding to the Kingdom”.
Committee on Preparation For Ministry: Moderator Brad Sheppard explained to the Presbytery that Candidate Daren Hofmann had already been examined for Ordination by the Presbytery of Great Rivers on May 29, 2007 and therefore, it would not be necessary for the Presbytery of Missouri Union to also do an examination since he had successfully passed The Presbytery of Great Rivers examination.
Elder Bob Fenlon moved approval of the following Administrative Commission to Ordain Daren Hofmann at the First Presbyterian Church, Jefferson City, MO on Sunday June 24 at 5:00 p.m. Clergy: Rev. R. W. Beard, Rev. Wallis Landrum, Rev. Mike Lewton, and Rev. Brad Sheppard. Laypersons: Elder Don Bay, Trinity Presbyterian Church, Elder David Harrison, Vice-Moderator of the Presbytery of Missouri Union, and Elder Cynthia Quetsch, First Presbyterian Church, Jefferson City, MO. Motion passed.
The Called meeting of the Presbytery of Missouri Union was closed with prayer by the Moderator, Rev. Diane Miller at 10:05 a.m.
