So that all may be informed about the status of our Inquirers, we submit this brief report on the progress of each one:
KRIS SCHONDELMEYER
Inquirer from Broadway, Sedalia. Kris is enrolled in a 4-year program at Eden Theological Seminary in St Louis. He will complete his 3rd year in May. He has taken the psychological evaluation in preparation for becoming a Candidate. He will take the English Bible Examination in February. He received the Walter S. Goings Scholarship in 2008. He works with Youth at First United Presbyterian Church, Belleville, IL.
BEN WAGNER
Inquirer from Troy Presbyterian Church. Ben is spending January and February completing and defending his thesis for a Ph.D at St Louis University. He has been commissioned as the Lay Pastor of the Troy Presbyterian Church.
BRENDA WATERS
Inquirer from First Church, Jefferson City. Brenda will complete her degree at Eden Theological Seminary in St. Louis this year. She will begin the process of moving into candidacy in the next few months. She has served the Gerald Presbyterian Church and the Pacific Presbyterian Church.
AMY VINSON RITTER
Candidate from Trinity, Columbia. Graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary in 2003. Enabled husband to get Law degree and began to rear a family. Amy has preached in churches within Black Hawk Presbytery and Chicago Presbytery, within whose bounds she lives. She has completed the Comprehensive Ordination Exams and has completed a PIF.
ROBERTA “BERTIE” ROSE
Candidate from First Church, Palmyra. Graduate of Dubuque Theological Seminary in May 2008. Passed Comprehensive Examinations. Supplied several churches in Pike County in the summer of 2008. Serves as Chaplain at Hannibal Regional Hospital. Completed the PIF and is seeking a call.
PHILIP ROSE
Candidate for First Church, Palmyra. Graduate of Dubuque Theological Seminary in May 2008. Passed Comprehensive Examinations. With Bertie, Phil served Pike County churches in summer of 2008. Completed PIF and actively seeing a call.
DANA SLAVIN
Candidate from First church, Kirksville. Attended McCormack Theological Seminary, Chicago. Passed Comprehensive Examinations. Teaches as Moberly Area Community College in Kirksville. Supplied Community Presbyterian Church, LaPlata and Memphis Presbyterian Church. Served Memphis during Advent and will supply Memphis during Lent.
MATTHEW VINSON
Candidate from Trinity, Columbia. Graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary with honors in 226. Has been living and working in a secular job in the Chicago area. Passed the comprehensive Examinations. Has completed PIF and is seeking a call.
Action:
That the candidacy of Elizabeth McCormack be transferred from the Presbytery of Great Rivers to Missouri Union Presbytery.
Elizabeth is a graduate of Louisville Presbyterian Seminary with a dual degree. She is the spouse of Michael McCormack, Pastor of first Presbyterian Church, Kirksville. She has passed all of the Ordination Examinations.
