General Observations: There are fewer women than men on some committees, although gender balance is better within the Presbytery Council than other Presbytery/Council Committees. The overall percentage of women clergy continues to increase (from 1:5 in 2007 to 2:7 in 2008).  New members of Presbytery (Clergy and CLP) are about 3:2 male to female. Small towns in Missouri Union Presbytery do not typically have a diverse racial/ethnic population, consequently, only larger-city congregations are within communities where there is potential for diversity.  Increased multiculturalism within Missouri Union is dependent upon outreach efforts of the congregations in the large cities in the presbytery.

Committee on Representation: Rev. Maryanne Van Buskirk, (Moderator), Mona Ajans, Rolf Christen, Charles Jackson, Rev. Ichiro Matsuda, and Mary Waddell
