<p><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">A Special Called Meeting of the Presbytery of Missouri Union scheduled for 9:30 a.m. </span></strong>on February 9 (and then Feb 16) at Trinity Presbyterian Church, Columbia, has <strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">been re-scheduled AGAIN for Tuesday, Feb 23 for the same time and location.</span></strong> The purpose of the called meeting is to vote upon a proposed overture to GA from Big Creek Presbyterian Church on Baptism and God’s adoption of us. Nine members of Council have also concurred with an overture from the Presbytery of Northern Kansas.<br />

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;">The itinerary for the 10- to 14-day trip will include visits to Budapest, each of the presbytery’s partner churches, the district’s headquarters in Miskolc, and the 475-year-old Reformed Church School located at Sarospatak, which consists of a school, college, and seminary.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Participants will also spend time in Ukraine, where the HRC Partnership has established schools for Roma children.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>These schools have been supported with funds from individuals and congregations in Missouri Union Presbytery.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Over the years, more than a dozen mission trips have been sponsored, involving an increasing number of pastors and lay people.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Most return with stories of a life-changing experience. The person-to-person contacts established during these trips put a face on international mission and frequently launch transcontinental friendships that endure for many years.</span></span></p>

Pastor Joe Trower passed away Monday, Jan 18, 2010 at St. Mary&#8217;s Medical Center in Jefferson City. Friends visited with him Sunday afternoon and shared readings from the Psalms. <span id="more-1242"></span>Joe&#8217;s son Steve, the hospital chaplain and Festival of Sharing Staff were with him when he entered the Church Triumphant. Rev. Wallis Landrum led a service of Witness to the Resurrection at First Presbyterian Church-Jefferson City at 7:00 PM on Friday, January 22. Visitation was at the church prior to worship. </span></div>
<div><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff;">The Rev. Joe Trower served Church World Service with great dedication for many years. He was Stated Clerk of Missouri Union Presbytery from 1976 to 1997. Joe is survived by four children, four gandchildren and the congregation of Bethel-Salem Presbyterian Church in Hope, MO (near Morrison), where he was pastor for 43 years.
