Bills & Overtures

What is the Purpose of This Committee?  The Bills and Overtures Committee studies all amendments to the Constitution of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) presented to the presbytery for a vote, votes within the committee on the amendments, and informs the presbytery of the outcome of that advisory vote. The committee  also recommends a voting process to the Council  when the Council meets to plan the presbytery gradeessaywriter meeting when the vote will be held.

Who serves on this committee?  Membership shall be composed of the two General Assembly Commissioners and one Young Adult Advisory Delegate (YAAD) to the most recent General Assembly who serve two (2) years. Four additional members at large will be appointed by the Moderator Elect of Presbytery serving two (2) staggered two (2) year terms. The Vice Moderator serves as Moderator of the Bills and Overtures Committee. The Stated Clerk shall serve the committee as secretary with voice but without vote.  Members of this committee are appointed by the Moderator of Council unless otherwise stated.
