			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">Annual Gathered Meeting of Presbyterian Women in Missouri Union was held at First Presbyterian, Mexico on Thurs, April 23</span></strong> <span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>(9:30 to 3:00).</strong>  <span style="color: #000000;">Over 60 Presbyterian</span> <span style="color: #000000;">Women gathered with friends from across the Presbytery to </span></span><span style="color: #000000;">attend an exciting day of worship, a celebration of PW history, and the joy of fellowship.  Highlights were a delicious luncheon prepared by women at First-Mexico, a presentation by CLP Judy King and Elder Bess Gamm about the Criminal Justice ministry of Presbytery, the collection of 10 large boxes of </span>CWS Health Kits for the Festival of Sharing and an insoiring sermon by Rev. Terry Kukuk.  <span id="more-570"></span>Pastor Terry&#8217;s meditation highlighted women who had shaped and mentored the faith jouneys of those attending. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class="sticky_post"><p><strong>(Nov. 15, 2008) Thank You to all who brought gifts for PATCH to Presbytery today.  Christmas came early for the children served by this program!</strong>  <span id="more-357"></span>PATCH is a ministry helping incarcerated mothers keep in contact with their children. Special thanks to Jane V. from First Presbyterian-Brookfield, who transported all the gifts to Colleen Scott, the PATCH Coordinator, who will in turn get them to Chillicothe.  <span style="color: #ff0000;">(Previous post) <strong>Bring or send an unwrapped gift to Trinity Presbyterian for the Nov 15 Presbytery meeting.</strong></span>  The MUP Criminal Justice Mission Team will deliver the gifts to PATCH at the Women&#8217;s Prison at Chillicothe. The PATCH Program nurtures the bond between mothers and children while moms are incarcerated. Your donation allows PATCH to provide moms with a something to share with their children at the Christmas party. <span style="color: #ff0000;">The Criminal Justice Mission Team asks for your prayers that God&#8217;s life-changing grace will be evident through this ministry. </span></p>

<p><strong>Saturday, Oct 25 Creative project related to the 2008 Hungarian Mission Trip, facilitated by Andrea Cleeton.  See and hear about the Global Exchange from Muriel Stephens, who has just returned from Eastern Europe. If you can only come for one day, make it Saturday! </strong>Hear about the 24-year partnership of our Presbytery and the Hungarian Reformed Church.  Learn how God&#8217;s grace is evident in the every-day lives of women in Eastern Europe&#8211;and Mid-Missouri. Optional activities when you arrive Friday afternoon&#8211;take time to relax and enjoy the beauty of Fall.  Walk to the lake, visit with other women, join in a work project or allow time to meditate&#8211;you choose!  A time for women to come together for worship, learning, laughter, singing, meditation and maybe gardening or crafts or games! </p>
<p>Chriss Wheeler is directing the Retreat for a third year.  Muriel Stephens, the Secretary for Presbyterian Women in the Synd of Mid-America  and a resident of the St. Louis area, will report on the August 2008 PW Global Exchange to Eastern Europe.  <span class="bodytext">Recovering from the effects of more than 70 years of communism, the people of the Czech Republic, Hungary and Ukraine are struggling to adjust to new economic, political and societal realities. The people of these countries must deal with rapid changes in education, health care, environmental issues and social equality. </span></p>
<p><strong>Concludes with Worship at 10:00 a.m.</strong> <strong>Sunday</strong>. <strong>Dana Slavin, a candidate for ministry from the Presbytery of Missouri Union, will preach. Rev. Mike Lewton, Camp Director, will administer Communion. Retreat concludes around 11:30 a.m.  </strong>Activities from dinner Friday until worship Sunday morning, with plenty of &#8221;BOB&#8221; (body on bunk) time included. No lunch will be served Sunday, but participants are welcome to stay as long as they wish Sunday afternoon.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Cluster Leaders Allegra Harrison and Kay Metcalf have scheduled Fall Workshops for Saturday, Sept 27 at First Presbyterian Jefferson City for ALL Presbyterian Women in Missouri Union, especially those in Cluster 4 churches.  Two workshops are planned, with all attendees being able to participate in both.  Registration 9:00 a.m.  Workshops 9:30 to 1:00 (concludes with lunch) Cost of Lunch is $5.</p>
<p>Kay Metcalf will present teaching suggestions and overview of 2008-09 <strong>Horizons Bible Study&#8211;JUBILEE (the Gospel of Luke)</strong>. Kay recently attended a workshop conducted by Dale Lindsay Morgan, who authored this study, and she has exciting ideas to share!</p>
<p>Fern Lemasters will discuss <strong>Advance Directives for Health Issues</strong>.  This workshop is especially helpful for those making end-of-life decisions, either for themselves or a loved one.  The time to consider what one wants regarding later years healthcare is before a medical crisis.</p>
<p>Other topics will include July 2009 Churchwide Gathering and computer awareness.</p>
