Parish Nurse Training Aug. 9-13, 2010 (in Jeff City)

Parish Nursing is a community-based ministry, uniquely joined with a faith community and its belief system to promote health and prevent disease by tending to the whole person through a holistic approach, addressing physical, emotional and spiritual needs of members.  A registered nurse serves as the health educator.  Missouri School of Religion will offer training for this ministry August 9-13, 2010. Social Networking for Churches Jul 26-29, 2010 at CTS

This event is designed to help conference participants explore, plan, launch, and maintain social networking media such as Facebook, ConstantContact, Twitter, blogs, YouStream, Skype, Flickr, and podcasts. Local Disaster Assistance Mission-June 19-27, Louisiana, MO

Join Presbyterians and friends from several churches to complete repairs/reconstruction of a house damaged by fire last year  in Louisiana, MO.  Volunteers pay $15 per day for meals and lodging (at local churches).  If you are interested, please register with Kathy Montgomery at 573-639-0378.  Volunteers can help as many days as they are able. 


Montreat Young Adult Intentional Community

Applications are being accepted for the Winter 2009 program of the Young Adult Intentional Community at Montreat Conference Center. Beginning January 8, 2009, and continuing through April 30, participants will explore (1) living in community, (2) spiritual practices, and (3) service learning as a way of discerning vocation and faithful discipleship. He has been developing small groups as transformational models for over 15 years and leads seminars across the country. The seminar will be held November 12, 2008 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Stanley Presbyterian Church at 14895 Antioch in Overland Park, KS.  Lunch is included.

PAM Gathering Feb ‘09

Presbyterian Association of Musicians (PAM) invites all of it’s “professional” members (those responsible for a music program, directing a choir or instrument ensemble), their pastors and worship committee members to join them at this gathering Febraury 5-8, 2009. University Presbyterian Church in Austin, Texas is the site of this conference designed to deepen their partnership in the ministry of worship while exploring worship as “disciple making.” (Non-PAM members are welcome.)
