John Lersch–MUP SCE
Rev. John Lersch, First Louisiana and Elmwood PC, received unanimous support to become the Stewardship of Creation Enabler (SCE) for Missouri Union Presbytery. As SCE John will work with congregations on environmental issues to educate, motivate, and facilitate action to protect God’s creation. John volunteered for this role and attended the Presbyterians for Restoring Creation Conference at Montreat July 7-11, 2009 for training by the newly re-opened Environmental Ministries Office. John is especially well prepared for this role, as he taught Conservation and Ecology before entering the ministry and is very interested in stewardship. As MUP SCE, he will work through the Church & Society Mission Team, linking our presbytery to the Environmental Ministries Office at GA. Congratulations and thanks to John for his willingness to serve in this capacity providing another link for our connectional church!
