Calvin Hesse Progressing

(May 25, 2010) Calvin continues to wear his neck brace but reported at Presbytery that he continues to improve. Thanks be to God! (June 30, 2009) Calvin Hesse, Treasurer and long-time member of Kahoka PC, continues to recover from a broken neck from vehicle accident March 2009. His recent check up showed progress but also caution from the doctor to follow “his wife’s advice” when it comes to chores or work. Please pray that Calvin can be patient and use this “down time” to heal. Lola also asks for prayers as she has check backs with her doctors. “Thanks be to God for his care and provision,” says Lola.(May 2009)Calvin praise God that Calvin survived and is still able to walk – less than 1% survive accidents like this without paralysis.  Lola reports Calvin is making progress while receiving physical therapy at home. Calvin will return to the specialist in St. Louis on July 31st. Please pray that his bones will heal, for his comfort during the healing process and Lola’s strength and endurance.

Lola shared that challenges like this cause us to be more grateful. For instance Calvin’s glasses were broken in the accident and getting replacement was complicated because he could not get to the eye doctor for an exam. Now that he has glasses again, he is especially thankful to be able to see and read, despite his injuries.

“In the meantime we are thanking God for the miracles we have had and asking that the Lord finish the healing process. We’re keeping faith that God will see us through this, as He has many other things through the years. God is a good God, please remember Calvin in prayer.  Everyone can always use prayers. Thanks.” Lola Hesse, Clerk of Session-Kahoka Presbyterian Church.
