Sept 30, 2008–David underwent a procedure to help correct for esophageal damage caused by earlier treatments. Marilyn reports that his liver continues to regenerate and he was able to train with his Army Reserve unit this last time. Marilyn expressed tha family’s gratitude for prayers and God’s goodness.

7/31/08-Specialists treating David continue to evaluate his illness for a connection to service in the Persian Gulf.  Please continue to pray that current treatments will be effective and liver regeneration will continue.  He remains on leave from the Army.  Their family is grateful for your prayers.

7/14/08-Marilyn reports that David has continued to gradually improve with ongoing treatment.  The specialist treating him is hopeful that his liver has begun to regenerate.  He will be hospitalized the last half of July for extensive re-evaluation.  Doctors are trying to determine if his illness is the result of military service in the Persian Gulf.

6/13/08-Marilyn reports that David continues treatment with the specialist in St. Louis and is responding favorably to medication.  Doctors have not yet determined whether transplant surgery will be required.  

6/7/08-David Rose, son of MUP Treasurer Marilyn (Rose)Thudium, was stricken Saturday evening, May 31, while visiting Marilyn in Brookfield. He was rushed to Boone Hospital late that night and admitted to ICU with internal bleeding.

Marilyn expressed gratitude to God that doctors have an initial diagnosis and that David is responding well to medication. He has returned home to O’Fallon. Tuesday, June 10, he has an appointment with a specialist in St Louis and will continue treatment there. It’s been a blessing that his wife is out of school for the summer and able to help at this time.

Please pray that effective treatments will be possible and that their family will give evidence of God’s power and mercy.
