Missouri Union Presbytery is grateful for the outstanding service of older adults in our churches. Each year until 2006, the Older Adult Mission Team of Missouri Union Presbytery organized recognition of these faithful disciples with presentation of Evelyn Bedell Awards. This award is named in honor of Evelyn Bedell, who came out of retirement to attend San Francisco Theological Seminary. Then at age 72, our Presbytery ordained Evelyn as the “Tentmaker” Pastor for Bellflower Presbyterian Church and an Older Adult Worker in Missouri Union. She retired again in 1974.
The Missions Team Committee is bringing this award back in 2008. To honor a member of your church with the Evelyn Bedell Award, please submit the following information to the Presbytery Office, either by mailing this form or emailing office@mupresbytery.org by October 15, 2008. Awards will be presented at the November 15, 2008 Presbytery meeting at Trinity Presbyterian in Columbia, MO.
